The TP-POE-2456D from Tycon Power is a compact, reliable inline Power over Ethernet converter that bridges a 24V DC passive POE source to a robust 56V DC output. This innovative device lets you power high-demand IP cameras, wireless access points, radios, and other network devices over standard CAT5/6 cabling, dramatically simplifying installations in remote, outdoor, or space-constrained environments. By delivering IEEE 802.3af/at compliant power at 56VDC, the converter provides a practical solution for deployments where a centralized DC supply is available but a traditional 48V PD (Powered Device) option isn’t feasible. Its versatility makes it a smart addition to surveillance systems, enterprise networks, and smart city setups, offering flexibility, reduced cabling, and reliable performance.

  • Converts 24VDC passive POE input to an IEEE 802.3af/at compliant 56VDC output with up to 35W of power
  • Only requires CAT5/6 cables for input and output, streamlining installation and reducing clutter
  • IEEE 802.3af/at compatibility ensures broad device support, including IP cameras, wireless APs, and other PoE-enabled equipment
  • Wide input voltage range from 22V to 36V DC passive POE sources for flexible sourcing
  • Compact, inline converter designed for easy mounting in equipment racks, cabinets, or near powered devices

Technical Details of Tycon Power Passive POE to 802.3af /at Converter

  • Input Voltage Range: 22–36 VDC (passive PoE); nominal 24V
  • Output Voltage: 56 VDC
  • Output Power: Up to 35W (maximum)
  • Output Current: Up to approximately 0.625 A at 56V
  • Compliance: IEEE 802.3af/at (Power over Ethernet) compatible output for standard PoE devices
  • Interface: CAT5/6 cabling with RJ-45 input and RJ-45 output ports

how to install Tycon Power Passive POE to 802.3af /at Converter

  • Verify your power source: Ensure you have a passive PoE supply delivering 22–36 VDC and that it can provide the required current for your load.
  • Connect input: Run a CAT5/6 cable from the passive PoE source to the input RJ-45 port of the TP-POE-2456D. Use proper cable routing to protect against strain and exposure.
  • Connect output: Attach a second CAT5/6 cable from the converter’s output RJ-45 port to the powered device (such as an IP camera or wireless access point) that requires 56VDC under IEEE 802.3af/at power.
  • Power up and verify: After wiring, power on the PoE source and check the connected device for正常 operation. Confirm that the device receives power within the 802.3af/at specification.
  • Cable management and safety: Route cables neatly, secure connectors, and avoid pinched or stressed runs. Keep the converter in a ventilated area to maintain reliable operation.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What devices can be powered with the TP-POE-2456D?

A: It powers PoE-enabled devices that accept 56VDC output under the IEEE 802.3af/at standard, with a maximum of 35W. Typical applications include IP cameras, wireless access points, and network devices located at remote or difficult-to-cable sites.

  • Q: What is the input requirement for this converter?

A: The unit requires a passive PoE source in the range of 22–36 VDC (nominally 24V) to drive the 56V output.

  • Q: Does this converter make devices fully compliant with 802.3af/at?

A: Yes. The TP-POE-2456D provides an output that is compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at, enabling compatibility with a wide range of PoE-capable devices.

  • Q: What’s the maximum power the converter can deliver?

A: Up to 35W of output power, delivered at 56VDC to the connected device.

  • Q: How should I select cabling for installation?

A: Use standard CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cabling for both input and output runs. Keep cables short enough to minimize losses and ensure solid signal integrity for PoE delivery.

Good Pet Ball Launcher
Style: 2.5" Ball
I bought to throw balls for my Aussie. He does not like to tennis ball that came with it and chewed it up in less than one play time. The launcher seems to be of good quality and works well. We bought different balls made for launchers that work well.

Must-Have for Dog Owners (Whow have dogs that like to fetch)
Style: 2.5" Ball
Soon as this launcher arrived I went outside with the dogs to try it out. Long story short: This is a great fetch toy. I am able to launch the ball pretty far with little to no effort, and picking the ball back up is as easy as grabbing it with my own hand. The toy itself is very sturdy, so much so this is the only fetch-toy I'll ever have to buy. Considering how durable it is, I don't think I'll ever need to buy a replacement. I believe Chuck-It is the most popular option, and because this is the first fetch-toy I purchased, I can't really compare it to anything else. A few outlier reviews said the ball was difficult to launch, and I have to disagree. It has been so easy to use I can't possibly see what the problem is. And no, upper body strength is not a factor as I virtually have none. People can get great distance (Half the length of a football field by my eye) in one simple, easy motion. And if other products can launch the ball farther, so what? How far is far enough? Is your dog going to throw a fit because it went 40 meters instead of 50? No. They will not. For anyone upset this toy doesn't launch far enough, ask yourself this: Is the toy for their dog? Or the human who bought it? The bottom line is this: It feels like it's built to last, it's inexpensive, and it does what it is supposed to do. So long as a toy is "good enough" I don't see the point in splitting hairs and trying to determine which fetch toy is the absolute best. Saying it's good enough is a bit misleading though. I can't imagine how a dog toy like this could be any better. It's a must-have for any dog owner. Unfortunately, only one of my pups likes to fetch...

It wont hurt my elbow or wrist ( way better than before when I was wearing myself out ) I don’t know how I ever got along without it!! It's a must have if your dog loves playing ball. :-) Update: I've had this For 7 Months Now- it looks and works Great just like the day I bought it- Thumbs up!

Better Design - Better Materials - No Sticking
Style: 2.5" Ball
Been using Chuck-It launchers and plastic balls for a very long time and they were always a little sticky on giving up the ball. This makes it tricky to throw grounders with precision and can overshoot the fence in the backyard. A couple of years ago, Chuck-It changed the material to a stiffer plastic that made this problem more pronounced. I even tried custom sanding the cup to get just the right grip. The Fetch-It launcher (using the Chuck-It plastic balls) uses a three-pronged claw with soft rubbery ends that releases perfect every time. The material costs on this new one are noticeably higher while maintaining a somewhat lower price than the brand name original.

Meh
Style: 2.5" Ball
It "works" but it isn't very good. The grip is so loose on the ball, it lets go early and doesn't thrown very far. A Chuckit is so much better, I can get 3x the distance with a 25" Chuckit. This thing is kind of a waste.
