These Sunscreen bird feeders are designed specifically to hold sunflower seeds, which birds can access through the holes in steel screens on each side. The screens are designed to rest between 3 steel rods running through each side of the piece. The screens sit on top of the middle rod, and below the other two, thus holding them in place.The steel rods serve a dual purpose since they also function as perches for birds. The Sunscreen bird feeders are all individually hand welded from steel and stainless steel and measure 12" X 22". The rods all vary slightly in size and placement, so no two pieces will ever be identical. Filling the piece with sunflower seeds involves simply laying it flat, removing one or more of the rods on one side, lifting up the screen, adding seeds, and then lowering the screen and fitting in the rods again. Each piece is treated with primer, before being finished with spray enamel.

Waste of Money

Cool toy but my dog ate through it the second day he played with it. It is not for strong dogs. No durability. I had to throw away the orange covers and now he just throws it around.

Cool toy. Fun for all

A cool toy. entertainment for the dogs but more so for the dog parents to watch the dogs reaction. Comes with an additional rope just in case, which I loved. Only side note I would say is that the fast mood could be a little faster. My Golden retriever figured out the speed in less than 24 hours and now picks up the toy to try to chew it up, instead of chasing. With him attempting to chew on the toy in the small time I give him, there are no teeth marks yet…this toy appears to be durable. We play in short increments but enjoy the toy.

Must get!, Great interaction, mind stimulation

Love this my pup can't get enough. My pup loves this and is hard on it. She throws it all around chases it and guards it like it is her child. It is strong, sturdy easy to charge and fun to watch her engage with it.
Definitely must have and I will buy more. It shakes and rolls around, it walks itself and engages the pup to chase. The design is spectacular. It is light weight and the noise level is typical of a toy engaging response.

Pretty tough

I think the toy is great, but my dog was not excited about it. He prefers the original type which is larger. I think it could possibly be cracked open by a dog with a large mouth and is intent on getting the noise maker out. But it is pretty tough.
