Protect your Cisco investment with a comprehensive, enterprise-grade support solution designed to minimize downtime and maximize network uptime. Cisco Smart Net Total Care - Extended Service delivers around-the-clock access to Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAC), proactive coverage, and expedited hardware replacement to keep critical devices online when it matters most. This extended service combines electronic support with physical replacement, ensuring you have the right parts and expertise at the right time so your network can perform at peak efficiency, while helping you manage risk, budget, and productivity.

  • Round-the-clock access to Cisco TAC for urgent technical guidance, advanced troubleshooting, and rapid problem resolution, with a service level tailored to business-critical networks. This continuity of support means your engineers can coordinate with Cisco experts to resolve complex issues quickly, often before they impact end users or business operations.
  • 4-hour hardware replacement window (exchange) to minimize downtime, backed by reliable logistics and efficient parts shipping to swiftly restore service after a failure. The expedited exchange capability helps maintain service levels during peak periods, regulatory deadlines, or critical project timelines.
  • Electronic and physical coverage for hardware and select software, including entitlement management and software updates, so your devices stay current and protected against known issues. You gain ongoing access to software defect support, compatibility guidance, and upgrade opportunities that align with your upgrade cycles and IT roadmap.
  • Peace of mind through proactive support features such as proactive notifications, ongoing health checks, and access to Cisco’s vast knowledge base to optimize configuration and performance. This proactive stance helps you plan maintenance windows, avoid outages, and optimize network performance with best-practice recommendations from Cisco engineers.
  • Streamlined administration with single-contract coverage, automated renewals, and clear entitlements that reduce administrative overhead and help forecast IT budgets more accurately. Centralized management simplifies contract renewal, device enrollment, and entitlement tracking across multiple sites and distributed teams.

How to Install Cisco Smart Net Total Care - Extended Service - Service

Activating Cisco Smart Net Total Care is a service enrollment and entitlement process rather than a traditional software or hardware install. To enable coverage and access to entitlements, you typically enroll through the Cisco.com portal or work with your authorized Cisco partner. The following steps outline a typical activation workflow that aligns with enterprise IT practices:

  • Identify eligible devices by collecting serial numbers and current support contracts; confirm that the extended service is compatible with the devices in service and that they are within contract terms for Smart Net Total Care coverage.
  • Register devices in the Cisco Smart Net Total Care platform (or the appropriate entitlements portal) and attach the correct service contract to each device to establish your entitlement and TAC access from day one.
  • Confirm the service level (24x7 support, 4-hour exchange) and notification preferences, and link the contract to your organization’s locations to ensure accurate SLA tracking and escalation routing.
  • Verify that TAC access is enabled for enrolled devices and ensure escalation paths are configured, including primary contacts and preferred channels for open cases and maintenance notices.
  • Test readiness by validating portal access, triggering a non-disruptive case submission, and confirming that parts inventory, shipping, and return logistics align with the 4-hour replacement promise should a device fail.

premium feel in the hand.
Can't really say whether it's that good or not elecronics wise since I didn't test it but it works like it's supposed to. Meanwhile, the housing oh man. It's premium. It feels like hard aluminum or something, very nice. Edges are rounded too with just the right sharpness like a macbook. Others would've been plastic. This is really nice for the price and if the specs really are 10Gbps, that's really good because most in this price range is 5Gbps.

Failed to support desktop PCs with USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports
Does not work with my HP mini PC with USB 3.2 gen 2 ports - when connecting USB portable SSDs to the hub. You won't believe it, but many USB 3.2 Gen 2 hubs only support laptops not desktop PCs (except hubs that have dedicated power supply for higher power USB devices e.g. SSD/HDDs) when connecting USB portable SSDs to the hub. We need a major fix from many of the USB hub vendors so these products can work with desktop PCs that have USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Workaround: Just directly connect the USB portable SSD to the PC instead. If you need more USB ports, pick up a good old USB 3.0 hub. They're working correctly with portable USB SSDs when working with desktop PCs. (You'd need a powered USB hub if you're connecting 2 or more portable SSDs - do your own calculation: 5V - 1A per SSD/HDD).

Need more USB-C ports AND passthrough power?
Style: 4-in-1 USB-C Hub
This hub is very handy if you need to use multiple USB-C peripherals but still need passthrough power for your laptop, 65 watts in my case. I have not experienced any noticeable difference in transfer speeds or heat. Typical Belkin high quality, all the ports are tight and connections feel secure. I want to note that this unit will NOT allow HDMI functions via USB-C. I still need to plug my external display directly into the other USB-C port on my laptop. The only downside is that the surface of the hub is a high gloss black, which will scuff like crazy the first time you toss it into your backpack or set it on the table. Does not at all effect functionality but can be annoying for some. Otherwise, this is now one of my essential daily tech accessories.
