The SurfySpider does not affect sound, volume, tonal characteristics, and does not work as a sound mixer or patch bay. What it does is offer a host of options for inputs and output configurations: mono to mono, mono to dual-mono, stereo to stereo, stereo to dual-mono – whatever signal goes in the input, comes out of the output. Working wonderfully with balanced and unbalanced jacks, the SurfySpider builds in a number of interactive features to expand its functionality. A built-in mute button, a built-in mono button in the event of a stereo signal trying to get to mono. All output connectors work in parallel simultaneously, though only one input source can enter the SurfySpider at one time.
Surfy's little wonder box is completely passive, so it does not need a power adapter to function. However, a 9–18-volt power supply is needed if you're looking to use the SurfySpider's phono-preamp function. On the SurfySpider, you'll find two XLR jacks, a pair of stereo ¼" jacks, a stereo ¼" jack, a 1/8" stereo jack, and left and right RCA jacks.
