Did you know? The iron-rich red soils of the Pommard 1er Cru "Les Rugiens" (featured in our fourth course) are so distinctive that many experts believe this vineyard deserves "Grand Cru" status. The name Rugiens is derived from the French word for red (rouge), a nod to the unique geology that gives this wine its famous muscular structure and deep, earthy complexity.
