Appearance

Rich ruby red colour, displaying the excellent flavour development of this exceptional 2023 Tasmanian Pinot Noir from Spring Vale Estate on the Freycinet Coast, the driest part of Tasmania.

Aroma

Ripe dark fruits and loads of toasty mocha oak notes, with nuances of lavender, blood oranges and rose petals. The aromatic profile reflects the warm days and cool nights of the Freycinet Coast climate, ideal for slow ripening and excellent flavour development.

Palate

Savoury palate, very seductive and textural. The wine showcases ripe dark fruits with loads of toasty mocha oak notes, complemented by nuances of lavender, blood oranges and rose petals. The vineyard began in 1986 when a small area of 0.8 hectares were planted to Pinot Noir, with further plantings made in the following years. The soil at Spring Vale is mostly a fertile clay loam, with excellent drainage throughout the vineyard and pH around 6.5.

This exceptional Tasmanian Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck breast, pan-seared salmon, mushroom risotto, lamb rack, aged Gruyère or Brie, or charcuterie boards, with the wine's savoury seductive textural palate making it perfect for elegant dining, game birds and earthy dishes.

The Freycinet Coast is the driest part of Tasmania, with warm days and cool nights ideal for slow ripening.
