Zo ontstonden de afgelopen jaren meer dan veertig nieuwe liedteksten die veelal slechts eenmalig werden uitgevoerd bij onder andere Giel Beelen (Schuilen Bij Jou, In Your Arms van Chef'Special), De Beste Zangers

Na de optredens als huisband van De Wereld Draait Door - waarin The Kik maandelijks bekende hits hertaalde en daarmee anticipeerde op de gesprekken aan tafel - kwam van vele kanten de vraag om liedjes van een nieuwe, Nederlandse tekst te voorzien. Zo ontstonden de afgelopen jaren meer dan veertig nieuwe liedteksten die veelal slechts eenmalig werden uitgevoerd bij onder andere Giel Beelen (Schuilen Bij Jou, In Your
Arms van Chef'Special), De Beste Zangers Van Nederland (Wat Je Achterliet, Rolling In The Deep van Adèle), Radio 1 (Bankje In De Zon, Sunny Afternoon van The Kinks) en De Zomer Voorbij (Het Wordt Weer Zomer, Massachusetts van The Bee Gees). Voor dit nieuwe album maakte The Kik een selectie uit dit repertoire. “Stuk voor stuk wereldhits die je dagelijks om je heen hoort, maar dan vrij vertaald, hertaald, in je moerstaal”, aldus The Kik.
