2001: The “American Century” had closed with a single Cold War superpower standing and a pause in conflict that some at the time dubbed “The End of History”. It wasn’t.

In the Middle East and South Asia, an Islamic revival was underway. Resentments bred in part of US support for the regions’ anti-Soviet tyrannies soon erupted into a new struggle against the West. Wealthy Saudi fanatic Osama bin Ladin issued a declaration of holy war against America in 1996 and then fired the first shots with spectacular terrorist attacks on US targets in East Africa in 1998 and the Arab Peninsula in 2000.

Bin Ladin’s al-Qaeda organization plotted securely under the protection of the Taliban, a fundamentalist movement in Afghanistan born of the anti-Soviet “Bear Trap” of the 1980s. By 2001, al-Qaeda had set in motion even more devastating strikes — this time within the US Homeland — that Bin Ladin hoped would light off a global Muslim uprising. Uprising or not, the Western response to those September 11th attacks would reshape international affairs from London to Jakarta and from Moscow to Dar es Salaam.

Labyrinth takes 1 or 2 players inside the Islamist jihad and the global war on terror. With broad scope, ease of play, and a never-ending variety of event combinations similar to GMT’s highly popular Twilight Struggle, Labyrinth portrays not only the US efforts to counter extremists’ use of terrorist tactics but the wider ideological struggle — guerrilla warfare, regime change, democratization, and much more.

Sturdy, works great, not quite perfect.
Color: silver
This was the perfect stand to use when my desktop computer crashed and I had to work on my laptop without killing my neck. It's sturdy, well made, and works exactly as advertised. Adjustment is smooth and simple. I was able to work with my monitor at a comfortable height and distance, and it saved my bacon! But, would I want to work on it indefinitely? No. Two things are lacking for me. First, there's a height adjustment, but no angle control. This means that at its max height, the display has a small downward tilt. It also means that on zoom calls, I had to fiddle with the monitor height until my whole head was framed, rather than cut off. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying over the long term, especially with lots of zoom meetings. Second, I'm not sure why I was surprised, but the stand-plus-laptop combo created a kind of aluminum "monolith" on my desktop. I couldn't bend to peer under it, or over it either. It felt as though part of my desk (albeit a narrow portion) became inaccessible. This too is a quibble--I just happen to like a more open and airy feeling. These two nits aside, this is a sturdy and well designed stand that works well and will last a long time.

Replacement stickers are on the way!!
Color: silver, Color: silver
Edit: Customer service was lovely and I have replacement stickers on the way. This fabulous product has helped me so much and I can't be without it. Back up to a 5 star review. I purchased this product in April 2024. The stickers that help the laptop 'grab' onto the stand are either gone or unstable. See picture below. Can it be repaired with new stickers? How do I get them?

Sixty Bucks? Yep. And I'd buy another one.
Color: silver
OK, I had my doubts. Yes, the iLevel2 is highly-reviewed. And yes, it's really (really) important to have your laptop screen at eye level (get it? iLevel?) But spending 60 dollars on an adjustable laptop stand? Couldn't I just pile up a couple of old books for free? Well, as a contractor once told me when I made a really dumb suggestion, "You COULD do it that way..." The iLevel2's main virtue is that the angle/height adjustment knob is rock-solid, as is the platform. It's just an extremely well-made, solid product. And the adjustment knob, which is on a left-right track on the front of the product, allows you to dial in your laptop's screen height to the millimeter. Result: a totally-custom, ergonomically-friendly setup. Love it.

Underwhelming
Color: silver
Too much hype. It just holds the laptop. Buy something cheaper. The slide adjuster isn’t useful to me at all.

Useful but not perfect
Color: silver
Useful, but typing with laptop perched on it is unsteady. I use a separate keyboard.
