Steelhead and salmon anglers swap between floating lines for swing fishing in the morning and sinking tips or nymph tapers when fish move into deeper water. Trout anglers run dry lines on the reel and nymph or streamer setups on the spare. Saltwater anglers carry a floating line and an intermediate.
