how to install Black Box NIAP 3.0 Secure 2-Port Dual-Head HDMI KVM Switch

  • Power down all devices before installation to prevent hot-plug issues and ensure a clean start for the KVM switch.
  • Connect hosts attach each secure HDMI computer to the KVM switch’s HDMI inputs using high-quality HDMI cables. Ensure you assign a dedicated input for each host to simplify switching.
  • Connect displays run HDMI cables from the switch’s HDMI outputs to your monitors. If you are running dual-head setups, connect the appropriate monitors to the corresponding outputs per host as defined in your workspace plan.
  • Attach peripherals connect your keyboard and mouse to the USB ports on the KVM switch or the USB hub, depending on your preferred topology. If you rely on specialized USB devices, verify compatibility and isolation per your security requirements.
  • Power and test plug in the external power supply to the KVM switch, power on your hosts, and verify that each monitor shows the correct host signal. Use the front panel or hotkeys to switch between hosts and confirm uninterrupted peripheral control on each system.
  • Fine-tune configure EDID behavior and any IP or software-based management settings if included in your model, ensuring that video remains stable across all displays and that switching remains responsive under load.
  • Documentation and support keep the user manual handy for reference on hotkey sequences, troubleshooting, and security best practices to maintain compliance over time.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is NIAP 3.0 certification? NIAP 3.0 is a government-backed security standard focused on trusted-path execution, data isolation, and enforced security controls within devices used to process sensitive information. A device with NIAP 3.0 certification demonstrates adherence to strict protection criteria suitable for regulated environments.
  • How many hosts does this KVM switch support? This model is designed for two secure HDMI computers, with dual-head video per host, enabling dual displays per machine and streamlined switching between the two systems.
  • Can I use this switch with non-secure devices? The NIAP 3.0 secure platform is intended for environments requiring strict separation of sensitive data. It is best used with securely designated hosts; if you mix secure and non-secure devices, verify your organization’s security policy and architecture before deployment.
  • What video resolutions are supported? The KVM switch is designed to preserve video integrity for HDMI displays and supports high-definition outputs across dual-head setups. For specific resolutions and refresh rates, consult the product documentation for your exact model revision.
  • Is external power required? Yes, the device typically requires an external power supply to ensure consistent performance and reliable switching for all connected hosts and peripherals.
  • Does it support hot-plugging? Hot-plug support is common in modern KVM systems, but for secure deployments, it is recommended to follow official setup and security guidelines to maintain NIAP-compliant operation during changes in connected hardware.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
