COMETIC uses Stainless for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are embossed (beaded) and coated on both sides with Viton®, a fluoroelastomer rubber-based material designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton® coating is heat resistant to 482°F. The center shim layer is comprised of uncoated Stainless, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements.
