Rent Backpacking StoveWhen I think of stoves, I think of the big monster gas range thing Mom had when I was growing up. So "stove" seems something of a misnomer when talking about this little 3 ounce rocket that can boil water or fry an egg in just minutes. A "burner" is probably a better description, but the industry calls it a "stove", and so will we. When I think of stoves, I think of the big monster gas range thing Mom had when I was growing up. So "stove" seems something of a misnomer when talking about this little 3-ounce rocket that can boil water or fry an egg in just minutes. A "burner" is probably a better description, but the industry calls it a "stove", and so will we.

A Backpacker Magazine tester said about the MSR Pocket Rocket, one of the styles we rent, "This midget flamethrower is one of the lightest backpacking stoves available, and the best cartridge stove I've used." I know lots of hikers who carry these too, and for good reason. It's reliable, not much to break, is easily fired up, and takes up little space or weight. It has a 3-prong, serrated pot-holder base that is big enough to hold a decent sized pot, such as our stainless pots options and Titanium Kettles, but that folds up into its small, hard plastic storage box sized at about 4.5" x 2" x 2".

This burner, excuse me, "stove", screws into any Propane/IsoButane Fuel Canister, which is available from us at our store and many other sources. We cannot ship it due to UPS restrictions. Open up the one and only simple valve on it, put a match or lighter to it, and you're in business. The specs say it will boil a liter of water in under 4 minutes, which might be a bit optimistic, but nonetheless it does happen pretty quick. Unlike some stoves, you can control the flame output volume on this one, so you can simmer or slow cook whatever is on the menu.

One stove will provide one or two campers all of the cooking power needed for a typical backpacking trip. With each regular size canister, a reasonable usage estimate is about 12 meals where you're boiling a couple cups of water for dehydrated packages.

For a few more backpackers sharing gear or for more efficiency, upgrade with the dropdown box to the more powerful stove/pot set combo.  This is a great rental option for backpacking and light car-camping trips where convenience and speed in a single package is desired.  Included is a stove, similar to the above canister fuel stove, plus 4 lightweight pots, something of a blend between the popular titanium kettle and the stainless pot sets we offer.  A unique feature of this package is the heat exchanger in 2 of the pots, which gives you speedy boiling times and higher fuel efficiency - similar to a "Jetboil" concept many of you may be familiar with.   The pricing is higher but keep in mind this one is more powerful and includes 4 pots.  This package is from MonsPeak, a company with some innovative products we've worked with on other product lines, such as this hydrid 3 and 4-man backpacking tent.

This stove and 4-pot brushed aluminum set weighs in at under 1.5 pounds, and nests neatly together in a compact package, eating up little space in your pack.  You will see much better performance at higher altitudes.  The multiple pots and fast boiling times allow this one set to serve as the cooking foundation for several people in short order, giving it a very effective bang for the weight - split it up among 2 or 3 for next-to-nothing weight-carrying for each.  It's also great for car camping if you don't want to lug around a big propane stove. Great For Puppy to Elderly Dogs
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: 9.7 Ounce (Pack of 1)
All 3 of our dogs love this treat, We like that the treats are free of rawhide. They are soft enough for even our 15 year old dog to enjoy. The treats can easily be cut into pieces to use as training treats or to hide in dog puzzle toys. With 50 sticks per bag, we don't run out of them too soon.

Good Treats, But Too Small for Large Dogs
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: 9.7 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I purchased these DreamBone Twist Sticks for my large dogs. They had no problem eating them, but the treats were much smaller than I expected for bigger breeds. Because of the size, they didn't last very long and weren't as exciting for them as some of the other chews I've purchased. That said, the dogs did eat them, and the quality seemed good. My dogs can be pretty picky, so their lack of enthusiasm may have had more to do with their preferences than the product itself. I think these would be a great option for small or medium-sized dogs, or as a quick treat rather than a long-lasting chew. Overall, a decent product, just not the best fit for my large dogs.

Great for older and small dogs
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: 9.7 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Healthy snack for the pups! I have an Oder dog and small dog both are able to enjoy these treats! They are hard enough to get some chews but soft enough to chew completely before swelling!
