About the Artist – Charles Bohannah (1910–1985)

Charles Bohannah, a native New Yorker, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1910. His artistic journey began early—he developed his talent during high school and went on to enroll at the Cooper Union School of Art, one of the most prestigious art institutions in the country. Around the same time, Bohannah also joined the Art Students League, where he further honed his skills in painting and drawing.

In the early stages of his career, Bohannah gained experience working on "wash drawings" for magazines. He received his first significant public recognition with a scholarship award from an exhibition held at the Roak Art Museum in New York, a moment that propelled his path forward.

With the onset of World War II, Bohannah paused his fine art pursuits to contribute to the war effort by attending the Bell Signal Corps School of Radio. During the war, he also explored photography as a form of self-expression, working in both black and white and color formats.

After the war, Bohannah returned to painting, producing figurative, landscape, and still life works in oil that demonstrated his deep emotional resonance and technical prowess.

In 1976, he had a major solo exhibition at the Humanities Gallery of Long Island University, as well as at the Community Gallery of the Brooklyn Museum. His work caught the attention of Nelson A. Rockefeller, then-Governor of New York State, who began collecting Bohannah’s paintings in 1977.

For eleven years, Charles Bohannah was a regular exhibitor at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibition, where he received multiple awards for his contributions. Over time, his works entered both private and public collections, and he is now widely recognized as an important figure in the history of African-American art of the 20th century.

Beautiful Watch, and easy to set up.
Color: 5535-ZP-blue
Looks classy, very easy to set the time, day of the week, and date. It is a class cover so it can break if dropped (my kids broke my first one), but it's inexpensive so it wasn't a huge deal. It's easy to read. Battery hasn't died for months. It's easy to put on and the size works for me.

What a watch!! A very nice watch. Everyone asks if it is a Rolex!! I say NO but it keeps me on time like a Timex. The band is wearing a little quickly but otherwise thumbs up!

Most important review for this watch and company.
Color: 5566-ZP-blue face, Color: 5566-ZP-blue face
I bought two and they both broke. Customer service has ignored my e-mail. What more do you need to know about a company? I personally wrote them through their own website, so they could keep Amazon out of it. It makes me angry that they won't even reply to my e-mail. I was nice. Both watches broke, neither one if actually water proof. The band is exceptionally thin and it WILL break on you once it arrives. It's so poor, that my body moisture is what got into the face of the watch. What the heck? I've had better 9 dollar watches from Walmart. Zero out of zero for the COMPANY who doesn't care about their customers, and zero out of ten for watch quality. Useless. I wasted 60-80 bucks on two of these! BOTH BROKE! and in more than one way!!!!! Terribly marked up (this is less than a 10 dollar Walmart watch - quality is LOWER than the lowest 3 dollar watches off Temu, Shien, Walmart), customer service is non-existent, and the band WILL BREAK on you. It's worthless. Take your money somewhere else. Attached pictures show the moisture leak from my sweat, but in real life, it's actually much worse. Worthless, not usable. Two of them folks. TWO!

As Advertised
Color: 5535-HP-white
The watch is what I expected, and works upon receipt as advertised. At this price, if it only works for 4-6 months it's easily worth the money. Large, nice looking face, day/date. Wristband is what you'd expect, but adequate and comfortable.
