Jos Rizal has a good claim to being the first Asian nationalist. An extremely talented Malay born a hundred years ago in a small town near Manila, educated partly in the Philippines and partly in Europe, Rizal inspired the Filipinos by his writing and example to make the first nationalist revolution in Asia in 1896. Today the Philippines revere Rizal as their national hero, and they regard his two books, The Lost Eden (Noli Me Tangere) and The Subversive (El Filibusterismo) as the gospel of their nationalism.

The Subversive, first published in 1891, is strikingly timely today. New nations emerging in Africa and Asia are once again in conflict with their former colonial masters, as were the Filipinos with their Spanish rulers in Rizal's day. The Subversive poses questions about colonialism which are still being asked today: does a "civilizing mission" justify subjection of a people? Should a colony aim at assimilation or independence? If independence, should it be by peaceful evolution or force of arms?

Despite the seriousness of its theme, however, The Subversive is more than a political novel. It is a romantic, witty, satirical portrait of Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines at the end of the nineteenth century, written in the tradition of the great adventure romances. The translation by Leon Ma. Guerrero, Philippine ambassador to the Court of St. James, conveys the immediacy of the original, and makes this important work available to a new generation of readers. His translation of The Lost Eden is also available in the Norton Library.

Suit fits amazing and seems to be made of good quality! Bold green! 9/10. I did have to get the pants tailored just a little.

great suit for a great price
Size: 38, Color: Hot Pink
I was shocked at the quality of the material, the suit and pants feel very nice and stretchy, however the tie is a little cheap and dosent match the same color. for the price its an impressive quality. it ran a little big but i was able to return and get a smaller size in a timely manner so no big deal.

Looks good and seems to be quality product.
Size: 34, Color: Apple Green(with Tie Set)
The quality is great for the price but the size is a little off. 34 is too big and 32, the pants is little tight.

Good, but the reviews messed me up.
Size: 40, Color: Hot Pink
I like this suit. I really do. It's much better quality than I expected. Color matches what I saw on my screen. 100% worth the $70. My problem was listening to reviews. Most say fit perfect, follow their size chart. Another says their son is normally size 32 and she ordered a 38 and it fit perfect, so make sure to order 1 or 2 sizes up. My advice is go with your gut. My son is normally a size 34...I ordered a a 36 because of both their size chart and reviews. After looking at the size chart I told myself that's too big, but said no, reviews state this is perfect and it is 1 size up from what he wears. As I was ordering I was telling myself "this is going to be too big, I just know it." Guess what? I was right...and now I'm paying for these size 4XL pants to be tailored (am I stupid or is a 36 supposed to be 4xl?? I still wonder if this is my mess up). The jacket actually fit quite nicely, maybe a tad too big, but not enough to even need to tailor it. Honestly this company needs to let us pick a size for the jacket and a size for the pants, instead of it being almost a guarantee one of them will be too big.
