Certain Creatures (born Oliver Chapoy) wrestles with the three marks of existence - impermanence, suffering and realization of the non-self - throughout Vipassana, his debut album on Styles Upon Oliver’s resume extends from the early 90’s when he was a pivotal player in Miami’s hardcore scene by way of his band, Shai Hulud, before moving into post-rock territory (Saxon Shore) and electronic pop (Warm Ghost). Since departing from Warm Ghost, however, Oliver has focused on electronics in a solo environment: His first release as Certain Creatures dropped in 2013 as part of our Bangers & Ash 12” series, providing a menacing slap of dystopian techno w/ guest vocals from Stuart Argabright. His collaboration with Stuart led to the most prominent credit in Oliver’s production career: the opportunity to produce Black Rain’s first album of new material since 1996. Dark Pool (Blackest Ever Black), heralded as Black Rain’s comeback proper, provided the best scope of Oliver’s production and compositional talent to date. With Vipassana, Oliver offers a searing discourse on the harrowing beauty of acknowledging, confronting and transcending oneself. The arc of the album is personal, conveyed to great effect through the use of Oliver’s own voice in standouts, “Color Me In” and “Nothing Changes”, the former a deep trip through vocoded psychosis, the latter a noir pop odyssey akin to The Fragile’s finest moments. Paul Corley (Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Antony) lends his revered mixing acumen to Vipassana, casting shadows across haunting features from Bonnie Baxter (Shadow Box / Kill Alters) and Jon Philpot (Bear in Heaven) on “The Suffering Seas” and “In Safety of Cold Light,” respectively. These collaborative efforts propel Vipassana to heights beyond the traditional techno album. Years of experiencing and participating in club culture have provided the groundwork for Vipassana, but it’s his compositional prowess that carries Certain Creatures’ debut album beyond the horde.

Great spring or summer fit
This came a little bigger than anticipated, but other than that, this is a great quality set. It's a little lighter, which is great for spring or summer. The color is just as pictured and I'm impressed with the altogether fit.

Excellent 5-Piece Suit for Graduation; Great Fit & Generous Pant Length
Color: Navy, Size: 16, Color: Navy, Size: 16
Sizing Profile & Custom Hemming:
I took a bit of a gamble ordering this, as my son is just transitioning out of a size 16 and into a size 18. I ordered the 18, and everything fit him absolutely perfectly! A great detail for parents to be aware of is that the pants run generously long. This is fantastic if you have a taller child, and because it is a proper suit, it gives you the extra fabric needed to hem the bottoms for that exact, custom-tailored fit.
The Tie Options (Hardware Details):
This 5-piece set comes with both a bowtie and a standard faux necktie. The hardware on these is distinctly different, which is a helpful detail for buyers: the bowtie is a true clip-on style, while the standard necktie utilizes an elastic/rubber band that stretches around the shirt collar (it is not a clip-on). Both options look incredibly sharp and work very well depending on the look you want.
Comfort & Breathability:
My son wore this entire outfit for his graduation ceremony, and the material performed beautifully. Despite wearing a full suit, he did not overheat at all. The fabric breathes surprisingly well for formal wear, keeping him completely comfortable.
Final Verdict:
Overall, this is a wonderful outfit with absolutely zero complaints from either of us. It fits great, offers versatile neckwear options, and is comfortable enough for long, formal events. 5 out of 5 stars!
Pros:
• Perfect Transition Fit: The size 18 fits exactly as expected for a growing teen.
• Generous Pant Length: Provides plenty of extra fabric to properly hem for taller kids.
• Breathable Fabric: Kept my son cool and comfortable throughout his entire graduation ceremony.
• Versatile Accessories: Includes both a clip-on bowtie and an elastic-band necktie.
Cons:
• None; it is a fantastic, highly functional formal set.

Sharp Looking Suit That Fits Well and Doesn’t Feel Overly Formal
Color: Light Grey, Size: 10
I ordered this set for a more formal occasion, and it ended up being a really nice balance between looking dressed up and still being comfortable.
The first thing that stood out is how good it looks overall. The style is clean and modern without feeling stiff or overly formal. It gives that polished look you want for events, but it doesn’t feel like a traditional heavy suit.
The fabric is lighter than I expected, which is actually a plus. It makes it much more comfortable to wear, especially for kids who don’t want to be stuck in something hot or restrictive. It still looks structured, but it’s easier to move around in.
The fit was solid right out of the package. The jacket lays nicely and doesn’t bunch or pull in awkward spots, and the pants fit well without needing much adjustment. It looks tailored without actually being tailored, which is ideal.
The full set is a nice bonus. Having everything coordinated, including the shirt and accessories, makes it easy to get a complete look without having to piece things together separately.
Details are well done. The buttons, stitching, and overall construction feel decent for the price point. It doesn’t come across as cheap, which can sometimes be the case with kids’ suits.
It’s also held up well so far. No issues after wearing, and it still looks good without wrinkles taking over right away.
If I had one small note, it’s that you may still want to double check sizing depending on your child’s build, especially for length in the pants or sleeves.
Overall, this is a great option for formal events. It looks sharp, fits well, and is comfortable enough that it won’t be a battle to get them to wear it. Definitely a solid value for a full set.

Overall, a really solid choice
Color: Light Blue, Size: 6
This suit is a great option for a summer wedding or any formal event! The linen fabric keeps it lightweight and comfortable, which is perfect for kids, and the overall look is really sharp and stylish. The double-breasted jacket adds a nice elevated touch, and the full 5-piece set makes it easy to have a complete outfit without extra shopping.
Everything fit well and looked great for the occasion. My only small complaint is the tie, it’s fine, but I do wish it was a bit nicer to match the quality of the rest of the suit.
Overall, a really solid choice that looks adorable dressed up, with just a minor detail that could be improved.
