This wine is made from a special parcel of grapes grown on the Hope Plains in New Zealand's Nelson region. The grapes were carefully trimmed, leaf plucked, and then bunch thinned to maximize ripeness and richness. They were cropped very lightly and the grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness and flavor.

In the winery, the juice was gravity fed to barrels and underwent a warm, native fermentation through to dryness. The wine was lees stirred and allowed to undergo a partial, softening malic to lactic acid conversion. It was then matured for six months on yeast lees in quality French oak. The barrels were then blended together to create this concentrated yet elegant premium Barrique Sauvignon Blanc.

The wine has a golden yellow color with green hues. The nose is expressive with aromas of citrus, rockmelon, passionfruit, and tropical fruits. The palate is rich and complex, with flavors of citrus, tropical fruits, and subtle oak. The finish is long and lingering with a citrus minerality.
