Some of my poetry conjures childhood impressions, some of it cultivates imagery of distortion, and some of it seeks to articulate the importance of art in my life. All of it however came into existence to realize some catharsis. That desire, therefore, seemed the appropriate theme around which to tailor a collection of my verse thus far. Although much of my poetry roots itself in New MexicoÑits culture and people, my own originÑjust as much dwells in European art (particularly music) and in mythical themes. My effort to reconcile cultural roots with art and myth often manifests itself as a quest for home amid feelings of disconnect. There is a tremor to much of my poetry, but IÕm equally drawn to solace. I believe strongly in human odysseyÑthe potential in all of us to find peace, love, and personal validation. Our processes are unique; the portals we discover (and proceed through) form the basis of my work.
