Vintage 2025 was the harvest our region had been crying out for—both large and high quality, a combination we hadn't seen in years. Remarkably, the crucial spring periods of frost and flowering passed without major incident, setting up a promising crop. December delivered warm conditions and low rainfall, but January threw a curveball—a savage southerly brought two weeks of cold, wet, wintry weather right in the height of summer. Certainly, had us scratching our heads! Fortunately, late January brought a return to normal temperatures and minimal rainfall. By April, temperatures were above average, and we enjoyed our typically long, settled autumn. All told, 2025 was EXCELLENT! The wines will be fully flavoured and beautifully balanced. Ones to watch for.
This seasons Rose was crafted primarily out of Pinot Muenier grown on our Blue Rock Vineyard. All fruit was hard harvested and delivered to our winery directly across the driveway from the block! Whole bunch pressing followed by a long chill in stainless steel with a light addition of bentonite for clarification. The juice was fermented in a mixture of seasoned French oak barrels and stainless-steel tank. The wine was kept on lees for 6 months prior to finishing and bottling late Spring 2025.
