Welcome to the Design & Develop Session Plans for Vocational Training course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in designing and developing structured vocational session plans that align to training product requirements, suit learner and workplace contexts, and meet organisational and regulatory expectations for quality, documentation and delivery readiness.

Designing and developing session plans for vocational training involves translating unit or skill set requirements into a logical sequence of learning that builds competence progressively through structured activities, practice opportunities and checks for understanding. This work requires careful planning because session plans must reflect training objectives, the intended mode of delivery, the learning environment, learner characteristics and foundation skill needs, and the availability and suitability of learning resources. Effective session planning is critical to ensuring training delivery is coherent, engaging and realistic, and that learning activities and formative checks support learners to develop the skills and knowledge needed to meet required performance outcomes.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to interpret training product requirements, make informed design decisions about sequencing, activities and resources, and recognise the practical steps required to produce complete and usable session plans. You will be required to demonstrate how you identify and collaborate with required stakeholders to confirm expectations, constraints and approval requirements, define training objectives and intended outcomes including the most suitable delivery mode and learning environment, and identify the target learner cohort and relevant characteristics including foundation skill needs within your role.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can interpret and apply the core requirements for designing and developing vocational session plans, including stakeholder collaboration, clear learning objectives, learner and foundation skill considerations, alignment to nationally recognised training product requirements, scaffolded learning sequences, engaging learning activities, suitable resources and realistic timings, embedded checks for understanding, and complete documentation and review processes—confirming your readiness to produce high-quality session plans for vocational training delivery.

TOPICS COVERED IN THIS ASSESSMENT:

This course assessment is based on the following topics:

1.    Identifying and collaborating with required stakeholders to confirm training expectations, constraints, and approval requirements

2.    Defining training objectives and intended outcomes, including intended mode of delivery and the most suitable learning environment for the cohort

3.    Identifying target learners and their characteristics, including foundation skill needs within the scope of the trainer’s role

4.    Accessing specialist support where required and applying organisational procedures for referrals and support coordination

5.    Accessing and interpreting nationally recognised training products to identify training and assessment requirements for the selected units or skill set

6.    Analysing units of competency or skill sets to identify the learning components that must be scaffolded to build competence progressively

7.    Determining a structured training sequence that supports learner progression through skills and knowledge in a logical order

8.    Determining learning activities for each learning component that support engagement, practice, and progressive skill development

9.    Identifying existing learning resources and evaluating suitability, gaps, and alignment to the training product requirements and learner cohort needs

10. Estimating the duration and amount of training required for each learning component, tailored to learner group characteristics and identified needs

11. Documenting the overall vocational training plan and structure in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, organisational procedures, and sustainability considerations

12. Developing session plans that include a range of facilitation techniques to engage learners effectively in vocational contexts

13. Embedding checks for learner understanding within session plans, including formative assessment activities and structured feedback points

14. Documenting required session plan components, including learning objectives or outcomes, presentation methods, learning activities, formative assessment activities, sequence and timing, required resources, and total session duration

15. Reviewing session plans to confirm unit skills, knowledge and assessment requirements have been fully addressed across the overall plan, then finalising documentation to organisational policies, procedures, and quality requirements

This classy evening bag by CHUNLI is large enough to hold all you will need for an evening out. It will hold your keys, driver's license, money, small brush or comb, lipstick, and of course your cell phone.
