Eau D'Orange Verte is a citrus women’s perfume that is an updated version of the 1979 fragrance, Eau de Cologne Hermes. In-house perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena in 2009 is the nose behind this recreation, which is part of the House of Hermes Cologne collection.
Because of the short longevity and the soft sillage of the fragrance, it works best for spring and summer daytime wear. Amalfi lemon, orange, and mandarin orange citrus notes open this scent and combine with mint, vetiver, patchouli, and cassis notes.
Brand Story: Founded by Thierry Hermes, the Hermes company initially provided the carriage trade with bridles, harnesses, and saddles. After the first leather bag was introduced in 1900 for equestrians to carry their saddles with them, the company shifted its focus to leather goods, clothing, and accessories. Scarves, jewelry, ties, watches and fragrances were added by the mid-20th century. The company and its research and production facilities remain based in Paris, France.
