Combining three distinct effects within a single filter, the 6.6 x 6.6" IRND 1.2 Digital Diffusion/FX 1/2 Filter from Tiffen offers a 4 stop exposure reduction, attenuates infrared wavelengths, and slightly softens skin details and textured backgrounds. Intended for use with high definition video capture with CMOS and CCD sensors, this filter compensates for the extended red sensitivity of these sensor designs in order to produce cleaner, more accurate colors and also takes the over-sharpened "digital edge" off for a smoother image quality. The filter is constructed from water white optical glass for maintained clarity and measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm to pair well with lightweight or clip-on matte boxes.
- Alleviating the need to use multiple filters at once, this filter combines three distinct effects to reduce the number of filter surfaces in use.
- IRND 1.2 filter offers a 4 stop exposure reduction to permit working with longer shutter speeds or wider aperture settings than normally required.
- Infrared attenuating design is proportionate to the neutral density value, and helps to ensure clean, accurate colors and true blacks.
- Digital Diffusion/FX effect softens skin details and textured backgrounds for a smoother image quality.
- No. 1/2 diffusion strength provides the least amount of softening, which is less than the 1 strength.
- Well-suited to high definition video applications where an over-sharpened "digital look" is undesirable.
- Diffusion design remains invisible when lens is stopped down for greater versatility in exposure control.

I've been suffering for a long time with night sweats due to menopause and have been experiencing insomnia. Even in winter, I sleep with a fan on. I would wake up several times during the night, alternating between feeling cold from being uncovered and hot from being under the duvet. Well, after much research on Amazon, I decided on this product, and it was the best decision I've ever made. I have no words to describe the comfort, the softness of the fabric, and how cool it keeps me. It's thin, but it's cozy and doesn't slip on the bed. Tonight I wasn't fighting a battle in my bed.It really is exactly as described in the product description. I slept without feeling hot and didn't even turn on the fan (my house's heating system wasn't on). I highly recommend it, especially for women going through menopause. It's worth every penny. I think I'll even buy another one in a different color...

Yeesss...
Such a lovely soft lavender! Cooling and soft and wonderful. I sleep hot and have night sweats (post menopause is a witch!), but this little comforter kept me cool and dry.
I did notice that it wasn't effective with a top sheet underneath it. You really need it to be directly on the skin for the cooling effect. Besides this (and the price) I have no regrets. Will definitely buy again, if it goes on sale.
