"Richly fruited and instantly appealing, the wine shows Black Doris plum, mixed spice, almond and rich floral aromas on the nose. It's succulent and plump in the mouth, offering terrific weight and silky flow. Flavoursome and delectable with a long, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2028"Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"A bold and expressive bouquet with a mix of aromas form plums to cranberry, and fleshy cherry to a carbonic whole berry quality. Dark ruby and unfiltered appearance lead to a palate of fine tannins texture and plump ripe red flavours. Reminds me of ‘Ribena’ with the intense black currant flavour. Balanced and well made, juicy and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

2 x Les Muretiers Reserve Syrah 2023 (France)

Awarded 95/100 Points & 5 Stars: Paul Tudor, Master if Wine
Awarded 93/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Every now and then you come across a relatively low-priced wine that stops you in your tracks, you know: “That cannot be that price?” or “Perhaps they mislabelled this?” This is one of those once in a blue-moon wines, an amazing expression of one of the great red varieties and it isn’t eye wateringly expensive. Deep purple, youthful in colour, the nose boasts rich fruit aromas, dark cherry, raspberry, with pastille and chocolate undertones. Medium weight in terms of the palate, but there is concentration and generosity all the way through, juicy and savoury at the same time, with firm but elegant tannins on the finish. Fruity yet structured wine that will work in nearly every drinking situation. Gold medal wine at a ridiculously low price"
Paul Tudor, Master of Wine

"This is fabulously fruited and perfumed on the nose, showing Black Doris plum, rich floral, clove, and toasted almond characters. The succulent palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, framed by plush texture and beautifully melded tannins, making it harmonious and delectably appealing. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

2 x Combe Rocher Reserve Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir 2023 (France)

Awarded 93/100 Points & 5 Stars: Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Awarded 92/100 Points: Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

"It's splendidly fruited with stylish complexity, showing dark plum, wild strawberry, game, warm spice, and assorted nut characters with a hint of porcini. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, well supported by fine texture and supple tannins, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Excellent aromatics with dark plum and cherry scents framed by purple flowers and gentle barrel spices of clove and vanilla. A touch of earth and wood smoke add complexity, most of all this wine’s bouquet has charm. Polished and fresh on the palate with flavours that remain red berry based with a plum note then spice and wood. Fine tannins and medium+ acid line, a well made wine ready to drink from day of purchase through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

Alc: 13%

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
